I've got an insanely busy May ahead - read on to find where you can catch up with me!
Before May arrives I shall be at the Firle Garden Show (details above) It is an amazing (and very large!) show. You'll find me with a host of local artist and maker in the Georgian riding school (worth a visit in itself) More details HERE about the show
And then, as if I need to remind you - it's May and the wonderful orgy of amazing art that is Brighton's Artist Open Houses Festival begins.
I shall be at two venues this year, in Hove (not far from the venue I was at last year - Peanut Butter Tree House - which as the over all winner of 'Best House' of 2014)
I'm at Poets Garden Studio (venue 5 on the West Hove Trail, 18a Arthur Street) a really exciting mix of art, sculpture and live poetry readings.
And I'm at 56 Tivoli Cresent (Dyke Road Arts Tail) too - I shall be in Brighton (and Hove) as much as I can, demonstrating my wood engraving at both venues, so I really hope to see you at one or both (if you really would like to to speak to me in person - best call me in the week to arrange a time - 01825 841000). If you've not come across me or my engravings before - HERE's a link through to a step by step I did of a recent engraving, and HERE's a link through to my gallery.
The festival runs from the 2nd of May to the 24th, it would be lovely to say hi if you can make it along to one of 'my' houses.
And then after the excitment of the first weekend of AOH - I shall, as part of the Society of Wood Engravers Annual show, be putting in an appearence at Kevis House Gallery to do a day of my 'from sketch to press' demonstrations - so if you're in the Petworth area and you'd like to see how I create my wood engravings please pop in and say hello - I'll be there from 10 (ish!) to 4.30 - more details of the Gallery HERE
And then on the evening of the 7th I'm taking part in Brighton's first Pecha Kucha night! (Yep me too, no idea what a Pecha Kucha night was - thank heavens for Wikipedia! more info HERE) I seem to be regarded as in the top 10 Brighton creatives (no pressure then!) I've been invited to share 20 images and given 20 seconds to tell you about each image - it will be primarily about my bonfire sculptures - but I'm sure I'll touch on areas of my artistic output too. For more details and tickets for this very exciting night follow this LINK
And my last big commitment in May - is a bit exciting. I've been asked to create one of my bonfire sculptures at the Elderflower Fields Festival (more details HERE) Which I'm really looking forward to - should be a lot of fun! If you've not come across my bonfires before HERE's a link through to the last one I built in November.
I'm starting to feel a bit daunted with all I've taken on!! however, I'm sure there'll be lots of fun to be had on the way! Looking forward to catching up with you over the next month or so
